Bernice Lichnovsky, age 80, of West, passed away late Thursday night, March 6, 2008 at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday at St. Mary's Cemetery near West, with Msgr. Isidore Rozycki officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home. Mrs. Lichnovsky was born August 19, 1927 near West, the daughter of Ignatius and Annie (Sulak) Hutyra. She attended the old Alligator Creek school near West. In 1954 she was united in marriage to Ernest D. Lichnovsky, Sr. He preceded her in death on December 12, 1975. Bernice was a housewife and homemaker. She also worked for the Horn Mop Company in West. She enjoyed watching sports, especially the Texas Longhorns and Dallas Cowboys. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, and especially loved taking care of her sons. Bernice was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. Two brothers, Patrick Hutyra and Walter Hutyra; and two sisters, Bridgette Wrbas and Angela Kelinske also precede her in death. Survivors include four sons, Ernest Lichnovsky, Jr., Gary Lichnovsky, Dwain Lichnovsky, and Mark Lichnovsky all of West; one brother, Ignatius Hutyra, Jr. of Elm Mott; four sisters, her twin Benice Koen, Margie Cocek, and Josephine Kocian, all of West, and Evelyn Wilson of Murietta, California; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Pallbearers will be Donnie Berger, Paul Cepak, Billy Hutyra, Kenneth Hutyra, Darrin Lichnovsky, Douglas Lichnovsky, and Donald Lichnovsky. Memorials may be made to the West Ambulance Association, American Heart Association, or the American Cancer Society.
