Bernadette Jaska

Bernadette "Bernie" Jaska, age 59, of Ross, passed away Friday evening, February 2, 2018 at West Rest Haven in West. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at Aderhold Funeral Home, with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Bernadette was born August 7, 1958 in Waco, the daughter of Louis B. and Frances (Bezdek) Jaska. She attended Elm Mott Elementary School and was a 1979 graduate of Connally High School. Bernadette was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in West. She was also a member of the KJZT Society. Bernadette enjoyed playing baseball and loved her cats. She especially loved to play basketball and was well known for making incredible shots. Bernadette is preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mary Frances Jaska; a brother, Raymond Jaska; and a brother-in-law, Larry Richards. Survivors include a brother, Pat Jaska; sisters, Barbara Langham and husband Wayne, Fran Richards and Helen Boyse and husband Darren; a sister-in-law, Theresa Jaska; nieces and nephews, Jennifer Cooper, Ray Jaska and wife Amanda, John Jaska and wife Jamie, Joe Jaska and wife Becky, Annie Jaska, Abby Jaska, Nicholas Jaska, Alan Langhan, Laura Langham and husband Israel Pantoja, Trevor Richards and wife Tina, Vanessa Sharp and husband Jeremy and Alyssa Foitek; several great nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Ray Jaska, John Jaska, Joe Jaska, Trevor Richards, Alan Langham and Nicholas Jaska. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's School, Mobile Loaves and Fishes of Austin or the charity of your choice.
