Bennie Nors, age 79, of West, passed away Friday, November 17, 2023 at West Rest Haven in West.
A rosary will be recited 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, followed by visitation until 4:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 20, 2023 at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours, with Rev. Walter Dhanwar as celebrant. Burial will follow at Fatima Cemetery near Abbott.
Bennie was born March 21, 1944 in Penelope, the son of Raymond and Lillian (Janek) Nors. He was a 1962 graduate of Abbott High School. On June 20, 1964 he was united in marriage to Sheila Vohl in Tours. Bennie was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours. He was a farmer and rancher his entire life, and worked at West Rest Haven for many years. Bennie enjoyed making sausage and hunting. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Bennie is preceded in death by his parents; sons, Benji Nors Jr., David Nors, Charles Nors, and Dawin Nors; a brother, Harry Gene Nors; a granddaughter, Raegan Cook; and a brother-in-law, Johnny Roznovsky.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 59 years, Sheila Nors of West; children, Raymond Nors and wife Jana of Abbott, Stephen Nors and wife Leslie of West, Kenneth Nors and wife Jana of West, Phillis Chupik and husband Kevin of West, Lisa Renegar and husband Brian of West, Annette Cook of Abbott, Patricia Schneider and husband Gary of Aquilla, and Laurie Brown and husband Billy of Abbott; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Angeline Roznovsky and husband Frank and Betty Jo Marley and husband Charlie; a sister-in-law Netty Jo Nors; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers are Joshua Nors, Nathan Chupik, Zachary Schneider, Brandan Brown, Hayden Nors, Maxx Matus, and Eugene Miller Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Marshall Nors, Wagner Nors, and Tyler Kocurek.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fatima Cemetery.
