Beatrice Alexander

Beatrice Evelyn "Bea" Alexander, of West, passed away late Thursday afternoon, April 17, 2008 at her residence. Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco, with Rev. Curtis Holland officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Bea was born in Winnipegosis Manitoba, Canada, the daughter of Steven and Pauline Lenuke Marchenski. She attended school in Winnipegosis. On May 21, 1960 she was united in marriage to Harold T. Alexander in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She worked for the Department of Defense at Ft. Mead, Maryland for twenty-six years until her retirement in 1972. In 1973, she and Harold moved to their farm property near Ross, Texas where they raised Polled Hereford cattle for a number of years. She loved baking, sewing, gardening, wine making and the country life. Bea was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 980 in Bellmead for over forty years and a long time member of the Waco Downtown Bible Class. One daughter, Connie Morrow, preceded her in death. Survivors include her beloved husband of 48 years, Harold T. Alexander of West; one son, Ronald H. Alexander of Anchorage, Alaska; two daughters, Carolyn Harvey and Tommie Sue Savina and husband Jack, all of Anchorage, Alaska; two brothers, Peter Marchenski of Brandon, Manitoba Canada and Mac Marchenski and wife Tillie of Sidney B. C.; and several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas.
