Barbara Williams

Barbara Williams, age 85, of Aquilla, passed away Monday afternoon, October 1, 2012 at the Sunset Lutheran Nursing Home in Clifton. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with David Snipes officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Grove Cemetery near Aquilla. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Barbara was born April 6, 1927 in Coleman County, the daughter of James W. and Hattie (Williams) King. She attended school in Talpa through the 10th grade. On April 6, 1945 she was united in marriage to L.R. Williams in Waco. He preceded her in death on August 11, 1988. Barbara was a homemaker and worked on the family farm. She was also the cafeteria supervisor at Latham Springs Baptist Encampment for 25 years before retiring in 1988. Barbara was a member of the Lebanon United Methodist Church in Aquilla and the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter in Whitney. She loved quilting, crocheting, taking care of her cows, handcrafting and just helping her husband on the farm. Barbara is also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Claude King, J.T. King, Garland King and Timothy King; and sister, Willie Mae King. Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Carrington and husband Jesse of Centerville, and Linda Kay Murdock and husband Ron of Aquilla; brothers, Hubert Murphy Jr. and wife Glenda of West, and Thomas King of Lampasas; a sister, Mildred Adams and husband Ed of Chillicothe, Ohio; five grandchildren, Kimberly Rynders and husband Dustin of Waco, Amiee Aberle of Merced, California, Scott McIntosh and wife Kristin of Las Vegas, Nevada, Lonny McIntosh and wife Christie of Merced, California, and Dustin McIntosh of LaQuinta, California; nine great grandchildren, Shannon, Brandon, Jeffrey, Ryan, Chase, Tori, Logan, Londyn and Kate; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Wes King, Stephen Murphy, Phillip King, Ron Murdock, Jesse Carrington and Dustin Rynders. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hope Center at Sunset Lutheran Nursing Home in Clifton.
