Barbara Lynell Chudej

Barbara Lynell Chudej, age 54, of Ross, passed away early Sunday morning, July 26, 2009, at her residence. A rosary will be recited and Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours, with Msgr. Isidore Rozycki as celebrant. Burial will follow at White Rock Cemetery near Ross. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Barbara was born on July 17, 1955 in Yuma, Arizona, the daughter of Lee and Mary (Teeter) Brummett. She graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1974 and received an Associate's Degree as an Executive Secretary from McLennan Community College, where she was on the National Dean's List. On June 8, 1974, she was united in marriage to Johnny Chudej in West. She worked for West Egg Products, West Rest Haven, and Wolf Manufacturing. Barbara enjoyed watching television, especially CSI and Law and Order. She also enjoyed reading mystery novels and taking care of her pets, especially Scooter. Barbara was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours and K.J.Z.T. Society #11. Survivors include her beloved husband of 35 years, Johnny Chudej of Ross; her mother, Mary Brummett, of Belton; a son, Shawn Chudej of Leroy; a daughter, Michelle Holt and husband Douglas of Ganado; two brothers, Arlis Brummett and wife Sherry and Billy Brummett, all of Burnett; a sister, Tammy Clack and husband James of Temple; four grandchildren, Dylan Holt, Laci Holt, Jacob Chudej, and Skylo Chudej; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Steve Whited, Rob Buchanan, Jeff Payton, Brandon Lamaak, Jerry Tunmire, and Colby McHargue. Honorary pallbearers are Arlis Brummett, Billy Brummett, Douglas Holt, James Clack, and Johnnie Boone. Memorials may be made to the Waco Humane Society.
