Barbara Eva Beckham

Barbara Eva Beckham, age 81, of West, passed away late Saturday night, March 1, 2008 at her residence. A rosary will be recited 6:30 p.m. Monday at Aderhold Funeral Home by Janice Kaluza. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Mrs. Beckham was born December 25, 1926 in West, the daughter of Ello and Josephine (Rothbauer) Gerik. She attended school in Ross. On July 26, 1944 she was united in marriage to Ben Roy Kudelka in West, he preceded her in death on April 12, 1962. She then married Henry Beckham on January 5, 1963 in Waco. He also preceded her in death on April 3, 1989. Barbara worked as a nurse's aide at West Rest Haven for nearly 30 years before retiring in 2006. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. Barbara enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and collecting antiques. Her parents and a sister, Janie Sulak, also preceded her in death. Survivors include a son, Ron Kudelka of West; a daughter, Tanya Galinger and husband Matthew of Pflugerville; a step-daughter, Patricia Schwartz and husband Bill of Greensboro, NC; five grandchildren, Shawn Kudelka, Shelley Kudelka, Karen Hudgins, Jenny Westbrook, and Billy Schwartz; two great-grandchildren, Seth Wolske and Clara Britt Schwartz; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's School Endowment Fund or the charity of your choice.
