Barbara Culp

Barbara Ann (Sowell) Culp, age 83, of Clifton, passed away Friday evening, September 13, 2024 at Willow Park Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Clifton.

A Graveside Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 19, 2024 at Smith Bend-Coon Creek Cemetery in Laguna Park, with David Snipes officiating. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West.

Barbara was born September 8, 1941 in Meridian, the daughter of Jackson and Mozelle (Brooks) Sowell. She was a 1959 graduate of Clifton High School. She was an assembly line worker for Quality Cabinets in Duncanville until she retired in 2008. Barbara enjoyed reading, baseball, and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents; grandchildren, Matthias "Wolfie" Culp and Keith Culp; brothers, Charles Sowell, and A. L. Sowell; and a sister, Kathleen Jones.

Survivors include her children, Dajin Culp of Waco, Waymon Culp of Whitney, and Michelle Hill and husband Larry of Aquilla; grandchildren, Dajin "Dee" Culp and Lisa Demorest of Frost, Tivy Culp and Luis Pizana of Kyle, Nathan and Kerri Brackenridge, and Laurie and David Nunez; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Jimmy Ray Sowell and wife Margie; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Coon Creek Cemetery Association.
