Augustine Lopez, age 54, of Brownfield, Texas passed away Sunday, May 13, 2018 the result of a motor vehicle accident in New Moore. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 18, 2018 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. David Trahan as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Augustine was born August 28, 1963 in Zacatecas, Mexico the son of Jesus Lopez and Socorro Chavez. He is preceded in death by his father, Jesus Lopez; a brother, Jose Maria Lopez; and a sister, Rosario Lopez. Survivors include his mother, Socorro Chavez of Chalchihuites, Mexico; brothers, Jesus Lopez of Mexico and Jose Luiz Lopez and wife Rose of Hillsboro; sisters, Julia Chavez and husband Samuel of West and Elena Castro and husband Jose of Granger; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Jose Luiz Lopez, Orlando Chavez, Jesus Perez, Samuel Chavez, Francisco Rodarte and Pancho Rodarte.
