Augusta L. "Gustie" Gaydos, age 74, of West, passed away late Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at St. Catherine Center in Waco. The family will receive visitors 1:00 p.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. A rosary will be recited and Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 2:00 p.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at Smith Bend Cemetery. Gustie was born December 7, 1933 in Wilson, the daughter of Paul and Frances (Respondek) Dworaczyk. She attended schools in Wilson and was a graduate of Wilson High School. She was united in marriage to Milton J. Gaydos and he preceded her in death on December 26, 2002. Gustie was a professional seamstress who worked for Wolf Manufacturing Co. in West and the Whitney Sewing Factory. She was also worked for the West Elementary School and the West Senior Center Meals-On-Wheels Program as a cook and for the West Library Association for several years before retiring on 2003. Gustie was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. She enjoyed flower gardening, reading, working puzzles, cooking, and especially spending time with her family. Gustie is also preceded in death by her parents; two grandsons, William and Christian Warren; five brothers, Dennis Dworaczyk, Nick Dworaczyk, Ernest Dworaczyk, and 2 infants; three sisters, Rosie Moczygemba, Regina Steffens, and Dorothy Dworaczyk. Survivors include three sons, Paul Gaydos and wife Debbie of Enterprise, AL, Joe Gaydos and wife Elizabeth of Glen Rose, and Kevin Gaydos and wife Susan of West; five daughters, Mary Webre and husband Daniel and Kathleen Warren and husband David, all of West, Christene Trammell and Monica Cummings and husband Kim, all of Granbury, and Cheryl Shaw and husband Jerry of Dawson; one sister, Irene Kahlich of Lubbock; eighteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Active pallbearers are Joshua Gaydos, Joe Warren, Josh Needham, Scott Shull, Jasper Hitschew, Dan Webre, Kyle Webre, and John Fehler. Honorary pallbearers are Cameron Shaw, John Tyra, and Zach Cummings. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Parish Center or Smith Bend Cemetery Association.
