Buckner Sr. Now that I'm older and my youth has been spent, I'm beginning to realize what an old fishing buddy of mine meant. He would say, "You know as you grow older You start to get those nagging little pains in all sorts of places. Most of the time it even hurts just to tie your shoe laces." But he told me how to get rid of those little pains On any given day. All you have to do is go fishing and relax And let those tired old years just slip away. I was quite a bit younger then and he was Much older, well past middle age. He would kinda smile and say, "You know when I go fishing I can feel Those tired old years just slip away." He'd say, "It makes me feel younger and plumb full of zip, It even makes me want to run and play. Yeah, when I go fishing those tired old Years just seem to slip away. Yeah, when I get in that boat with some of my friends. I feel full of energy and pep Although to get in and out of that boat I need a lot of help. But that's okay because I know it won't be long, Till fishing on a bright and sunny day, I'll lean back and relax and let those Tired old years..just slip away But you know I still want to go fishing with the GREATEST FISHERMAN Of all, and I'm waiting for that day when I hear my Lord say Come go fishing with me and let those tired old years JUST SLIP AWAY
