Arthur L. Deiterman, age 79, of West, passed away early Thursday, October 27, 2011 at his residence. A rosary will be recited and Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Ed Karasek and Msgr. Isidore Rozycki as celebrants. Military Graveside Rites will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, conducted by West V.F.W. Post No. 4819. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West. Mr. Deiterman was born August 25, 1932 in Tours, the son of Frank Joseph and Agnes K. (Winkler) Deiterman. He attended schools in Tours and West before graduating from West High School. In service to his country, he entered the United States Marine Corp and served during the Korean Conflict, where he was injured and received a Purple Heart. On October 6, 1954 he was united in marriage to Margaret "Marge" Piscacek in West. Arthur was a broker for JPM Grain Company in Waco for over 40 years, prior to that he worked for West Flour Mill. He enjoyed playing dominoes, gardening, hunting, fishing and being with his domino buddies. Arthur never met a stranger. His family was a very special part of his life and he loved going to all the grandchildren's activities and games. Arthur was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. He was also a member of the West Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4819, American Legion Post No. 478, and the Purple Heart Association. Arthur is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Eugene Deiterman; and two sisters, Patricia Deiterman and Ruth Slovak. Survivors include his beloved wife of 57 years, Margaret "Marge" Deiterman of West; four daughters, Debbie Coleman and husband Melvin of West, Amy Podsednik and husband Duane, Carolyn Stevens and husband Kent, and Mary Pavelka and husband Frankie, all of Tours; two sons, Dwain Deiterman and wife Rhonda of Ross and Gary Deiterman and wife Julie of West; four brothers, Frank "Jim" Deiterman and wife Terry of Arlington, Dalton Deiterman, Edward Deiterman, and Harvey Deiterman, all of Tours; two sisters, Agnes Middleton and Betty Jupe, both of Tours; 10 grandchildren, Brittany Deiterman, Blake Deiterman, Lance Coleman and wife Heather, Nichole Coleman, Scott Podsednik and wife Lisa, Shana Mench and husband Kevin, Colton Soukup, Brandon Soukup, Frankie Pavelka Jr. and wife Mikka, and Andrew Pavelka; 5 great grandchildren, Kain & Karisa Mench, Peytra & Nixon Podsednik, and Hadleigh Ballentine; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and numerous friends. Active pallbearers are Dwain Deiterman, Gary Deiterman, Scott Podsednik, Lance Coleman, Frankie Pavelka Jr., Andrew Pavelka, Colton Soukup, Blake Deiterman, and Brandon Soukup. Honorary pallbearers are his domino buddies and Eddie Havel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Youth Baseball/Softball Association or to St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption Building Fund.
