Anthony Rejcek

Anthony Joseph Rejcek, age 62, of West, passed away late Thursday evening, December 9, 2021 at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 16, 2021 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Ed Karasek and Rev. Anthony Rauschuber as celebrants. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Anthony was born December 31, 1958 in Waco, the son of Anton and Lois (Hanzelka) Rejcek. He attended St. Mary's School in West and was a 1977 graduate of West High School. On September 17, 1983 he was united in marriage to Sharon Lednicky in Bellmead. Anthony was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. He was also a member of the SPJST Lodge #6 in Cottonwood and the KJT Society #31 in West. Anthony was a farmer and rancher all his life. He enjoyed the outdoors, working the land, tending to his cows, taking Texas road trips, hunting, restoring classic cars and tractors, attending car shows, drag racing, and dirt track racing. He loved visiting with his friends in town and never met a stranger. His family said his best attribute was helping people. He was known as a good provider and protector of his family and spending time with his grandchildren never failed to put a smile on his face. Anthony is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Barbara Smith; and his father-in-law, Larry Lednicky. Survivors include his beloved wife and best friend of 38 years, Sharon Rejcek of West; his children, Kristen Rejcek of Houston, Kevin Rejcek and his wife Jacqueline of Fresno, CA, and Kayla Williams and her husband Trace of West; three adoring grandchildren, Grayson Rejcek, Bodie Rejcek, and James Williams; his sisters, Cathy Reddell and her husband Terry and Genevieve Qualls and her husband Walter; a brother-in-law, Lendon Smith; his mother-in-law, Frances Lednicky; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Terry Reddell Jr., Jeffrey Reddell, Ryan Reddell, Derek Lednicky, Deven Lednicky, and Dylan Lednicky. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Cemetery Association.
