Annie Mach

Annie (Polansky) Mach, age 80, of Mart, passed away Wednesday afternoon, September 27, 2023 at Baylor Scott and White Hillcrest in Waco.


A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 2, 2023 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott, with Deacon Terry Timmons officiating. Burial will follow at Fatima Cemetery near Abbott.


Annie was born October 29, 1942 in West, the daughter of John and Christine (Pustejovsky) Polansky. She was a 1961 graduate of West High School and attended 4C Business College. On April 20, 1963 she was united in marriage to Robert E. Mach in West. She and Robert dedicated their lives to farming and ranching and to raising their six children. Robert preceded her in death on July 26, 2021. Annie was a long-time member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Elk, where she was a eucharistic minister and taught CCE for over 20 years. She was also a member of St. Anne's Altar Society in Elk and KJZT in Abbott. Annie enjoyed gardening, cooking, and sewing. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, who loved her dearly.


Annie is also preceded in death by her parents and infant twins, Joseph and Mary Mach.


Survivors include her children, Ann Poteet and husband Billy of Axtell, Robert J. Mach and wife Shellie of Robinson, Carol Thomas and husband Paul of Waco, Diane Kelly and husband Brian of Spring, Paul Mach and wife Azure of Crawford, and Gail Zucha and husband Heath of West; eleven grandchildren, Erin and Tyrel McSpadden, Amy and Stephan D'Urso, Samuel Mach, Jeffrey Thomas, Justin Thomas, Alaina Kelly, Reese Kelly, Kyla Mach, Zane Mach, Audrey Zucha, and Hayden Zucha; great-grandchildren, Liam, Jonah, and one on-the-way; her brothers, Joe Polansky and wife Lillian, John H. Polansky, Robert Polansky and wife Elizabeth, and Bill Polansky and wife Josephine; her sisters, Georgia Hutyra and husband Robert, Christine Mynarcik, Frances Nors and husband George, Mary Lucien and husband Ron, and Janie Bottoms and husband Wade; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


Active pallbearers are Robert J. Mach, Samuel Mach, Paul Mach, Zane Mach, Billy Poteet, Brian Kelly, and Heath Zucha. Honorary pallbearer is Hayden Zucha.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fatima Cemetery.
