Annette Bettge, age 82, of Abbott, passed away late Monday afternoon, July 4, 2022 at Baylor Scott and White Hillcrest Hospital in Waco.
A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Thursday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 8, 2022 at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours, with Rev. Walter Dhanwar and The Very Rev. Will Straten as celebrants. Burial will follow at St. Martin's Cemetery in Tours.
Annette was born March 11, 1940 in Tours, the daughter of George and Agnes (Podsednik) Straten. She attended school in Tours and was a 1958 graduate of West High School. On August 8, 1959 she was united in marriage to Billy Bettge in Tours. Annette was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church. She was also a member of St. Elizabeth's Altar Society and KJZT Society #45. She and Billy owned Bill's Grocery Store in Leroy for 33 years. Annette enjoyed sewing, going on casino trips, crafting, cooking, and baking. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Annette is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, George Jr., Vernon, Herman, and Reynold Straten; and sisters, Dolores Otto and Patsy Halamik.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 63 years, Billy Bettge of Abbott; sons, Dale Bettge and wife Laura A., Raymond Bettge and wife Anna Jo, Billy Bettge Jr., and Allan Bettge and wife Laura J., all of West; brothers, David Straten and wife Dorothy, Johnny Straten and wife Brenda, and Robert Straten and wife Linda; sisters, Rita Jerek and Virginia Bartosh and husband E.J.; grandchildren, Jaimie Charanza and husband Joey, Garrett Bettge, Jeremy Bettge and wife Melissa, Troy Bettge and wife Kayla, Kevin Bettge and wife Kenna, Tyler Joe Bettge and friend Breanne, Melinda Norton and husband Bryce, Aaron Bettge and friend Hannah, and Allana Bettge and fiance Allen; great-grandchildren, Cooper, Carter, Kate, Jay, Easton, Karaline, Stella, and Bailey; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Active Pallbearers are her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers are her granddaughters.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Elizabeth's Altar Society or St. Martin's CCE Center.
