Anne Skrabanek

Anne (Dujka) Skrabanek, age 94, of Dallas, passed away late Tuesday evening, September 20, 2011 at her residence. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the West Brethren Cemetery, conducted by the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Skrabanek was born December 13, 1916 in Floresville, the daughter of John and Anna (Majtas) Dujka, Sr. She attended schools in Ross. On August 22, 1938 she was united in marriage to William Victor "Bill" Skrabanek in Temple. He preceded her in death on May 16, 1951. Anne was a homemaker and worked in the aerospace industry for LTV Aeronautical in Dallas for over 25 years before retiring in 1978. Anne had also worked as a hairdresser, seamstress, Avon Representative for 26 years, and a taxi driver. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter Flora No. 794 and Dallas Chapter No. 1. Anne loved fishing, bowling, playing cards, especially "42", polka music and dancing. Anne is also preceded in death by her parents and seven brothers, Joe Dujka, Paul Dujka, John Dujka, Rudolph Dujka, Milan Dujka Sr., George Dujka and Thomas Dujka. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Anne Skrabanek; a son, William V. "Bill" Skrabanek, both of Dallas; a step son, James "Ron" Stone and wife Selina of Denison; sister-in-law, Agnes Dujka of Ross; grandchildren, Melanie Knight and husband Shawn, Brittney Skrabanek and husband Hugh Malo, and Stephen Skrabanek Horn and fiance Stephanie; great granddaughters, Ashleigh and Ava Knight; her two beloved Welsh Corgi Pembrooks, Princess Anne and Victoria Anne; nephew Paul Dujka Jr.; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the West Brethren Cemetery Association, the Galveston Shriners Burn Hospital, 815 Market St., Galveston, TX 77550, or Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, 2222 Welborn St., Dallas, TX 75219.
