Anna Mae Patterson

Anna Mae Patterson, age 85, of West, passed away Friday evening, September 3, 2010 at her residence. Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at White Rock Cemetery with Eric Patterson officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 7:00 Tuesday at Aderhold Funeral Home. Mrs. Patterson was born on October 3, 1924 in Osage, the daughter of Madison M. and Kizzie (Vessell) Patrick. She attended Prairie Chapel and graduated from Crawford High School. On March 4, 1943, she was united in marriage to Carl Ray Patterson in Waco. Anna served her country during World War II with the Women's Army Corp as a medical technician. She was a Licensed Vocational Nurse for Grant Buie Hospital in Hillsboro and Hillcrest Medical Center in Waco for 13 years before her retiring in 1971. Anna enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Anna Mae is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Alvis Patrick; and a sister, Geralene Beam. Survivors include her beloved husband of 67 years, Carl Ray Patterson of West; two sons; Bobby Wayne Patterson and wife Jan of Lacy Lakeview and James Brent Patterson and wife Mary McCoy of Glen Rose; two daughters, Gerry Mulligan of Waco and Shirley Robinson of West; a former daughter-in-law, Cathy Patterson of West; six grandchildren, Shari Mulligan, Amanda Patterson, Lance Patterson, Eric Patterson, Brian Robinson, and Samantha Patterson; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
