Anna Louise Kaska, age 88, of Abbott, passed away early Saturday morning, June 25, 2022 at Providence Hospice Place in Waco. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, with Rev. Brijil Lawrence as celebrant, assisted by Deacon Terry Timmons. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery near West. Anna was born July 3, 1933 in West, the daughter of Louise (Hykel) and Arnold Hajek Sr. She attended schools in Abbott and was a 1952 graduate of Abbott High School. On September 26, 1953 she was united in marriage to George Kaska Sr. in Abbott. George preceded her in death on February 25, 2011. Anna was a lifelong member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. She was also a member of the KJZT Society #104 and the Ladies Altar Society, both in Abbott. She worked in data processing for Hillcrest Hospital in Waco for 15 years, was a homemaker and helped her husband on the family farm. Anna enjoyed cooking, reading, listening to Czech music, and playing dominoes and bingo. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Anna is also preceded in death by her parents; a son, George Kaska Jr.; brothers, Reynold, Jody, Albin, William, and Arnold Hajek Jr.; sisters, Florence Pustejovsky and Joan Holecek; and a son-in-law, Gus "Bo" Kocian Jr. Survivors include her children, Louise and Rick Sullins of Abbott, Dolores and Barry Tufts of Abbott, Richard and Wendy Kaska of Whitney, Christine Kocian of West and Mairi Kaska of Abbott; her grandchildren, Jason and Stephanie Sullins, Arron and Mandy Sullins, Amanda and Blake Kettler, Kyle Kaska, Natalie Kaska, Matthew and Annie Tufts, Lauren Tufts, Macy and Tyler Hart, Nolan and Gabby Kaska, Logan Kaska, Michael Kocian, and Kevin Kocian; great grandchildren, Connor Sullins, Abigail Sullins, Avery Sullins, Hannon Kettler, Blayke Hart, Maryn Hart, and Paul Tufts; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Hajek and Katherine Martin; brothers-in-law, Ernest Holecek and Laddie Kaska and his wife Gloria; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Jason Sullins, Arron Sullins, Kyle Kaska, Matthew Tufts, Nolan Kaska, Michael Kocian and Kevin Kocian. Honorary pallbearers are Amanda Kettler, Natalie Kaska, Lauren Tufts, Macy Hart and Logan Kaska. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the West Volunteer Ambulance Association, St. Mary's Cemetery Association or the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott.
