Anna Beseda

Anna Beseda, age 78, of Lacy Lakeview, passed away early Thursday morning, September 7, 2006 at her residence. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Friday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel by Janice Kaluza, with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 3:00 p.m. Saturday at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at Presbyterian Cemetery near Penelope. Mrs. Beseda was born January 8, 1928 in Poland, the daughter of George and Anna (Konieska) Zodrozna. In 1941 she was picked up by the Germans and placed in a concentration camp for 2 years. Anna was selected by a German family and worked for them for 3 years until after the war. On January 19, 1946 she was united in marriage to Willie Harry Beseda in Badkissegin, Germany. He preceded her in death after 45 years together on November 10, 1991. After their marriage they returned to the United States and settled in Penelope to raise their family. Anna worked for the Weston Cookie Factory in Waco for several years before becoming a waitress and cashier for Leslie's Chicken Shack for 30 years, retiring in 1993. She then worked for the Hamilton House for seven years. Anna enjoyed working with flowers, cleaning, walking, being outdoors, and doing special things for older friends. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours. Her parents; a son-in-law, Bill Spillman; and a great granddaughter, Chloe Elise Kane; also preceded her in death. Survivors include a son, Ben Roy Beseda and his wife Janice of Elm Mott; two daughters, Norma Jean Spillman of Wellington and Dolores Ann McCoy and her husband Jimbo of West; a very special friend and companion, Al Straten of Lacy Lakeview; seven grandchildren, Ashley Spillman Madsen, Marnie Kane, Kristen Jordan, Zack Beseda, Cody Beseda, Trent McCoy, and Preston McCoy; two great granddaughters, Emma and Madeleine Kane; a sister Maria K. and a brother, George Zadrozna, both of Ukraine; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Pallbearers are Trent McCoy, Preston McCoy, Zach Beseda, Cody Beseda, Kevin Jordan, Brian Kane, Robert Boss, and Wayne Barton. Memorials may be made to St. Martin's Church Building Fund, Hillcrest Community Hospice, or the American Cancer Society.
