Anna (McMorrough) Archer, age 95, of West, passed away Saturday afternoon, September 16, 2023 at West Rest Haven in West, surrounded by her loved ones.
Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Deacon Ronnie Sykora officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Anna was born February 15, 1928 in the Tokio community near West, the daughter of Burt and Faye (Newman) McMorrough. She attended the old Tokio School and was a 1947 graduate of West High School. On August 7, 1948 she was united in marriage to Edward "Eddie" Archer in West. Eddie preceded her in death on March 24, 2015. Anna was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption and the Catholic Daughters of America Court #829. She was a homemaker and also co-owned and served as the bookkeeper of E.R. Archer Texaco & City Service Station, Inc. for many years until retiring in 1982. Prior to that she worked as a PBX operator and for the Southern Pacific Railroad. Anna enjoyed playing 42 with her friends, traveling, bird watching, and cooking. She loved spending time with her family.
Anna is also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Patrick Archer; a daughter, Christina Archer; brothers, Billie, Burt Jr., Donald, Travis, and Kenneth McMorrough; and sisters, Sheila McMorrough and Jeanette Seay.
Survivors include her grandchildren, Krystal Archer-Goodman and husband Jeremy and Brandon Whitman; three great grandchildren, Jacob, Kate, and Makenzie Goodman; a sister, Evelyn Kettler; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers are Gerald Glatter, Donny Glatter, Brian McMorrough, Jordan McMorrough, Kenneth Dale Stoker, Jerry McMorrough, and Marty Marak.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Volunteer Ambulance Service or the Catholic Daughter of America Court #829.
