Angie Drozd, age 73, of Streetman, formerly of West, passed away early Wednesday morning, March 4, 2009 at her residence. A rosary will be recited and Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours, with Msgr. Isidore Rozycki and Rev. Devaraj Arullapa as celebrants. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery near West. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Drozd was born on December 30, 1935 in Abbott, the daughter of John and Anita (Tobola) Foyt. She attended school in West and graduated from West High School in 1955. On January 14, 1967, she was united in marriage to William Thomas "Bill" Drozd in Tours. Angie worked in production control for Varo Semiconductor in Garland for over ten years. Prior to that she worked for Union Bankers Life Insurance Company in Dallas for 12 years. Angie was a member of the Ladies Altar Society and the Community Care Club. She enjoyed gardening and working in her yard. She was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Fairfield. Angie is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, John H. Foyt. Survivors include her beloved husband of 42 years, Bill Drozd of Streetman; a sister, Millie Kostecka of West; a sister-in-law, Pat Neu; a brother-in-law, James Drozd; her nephews, Bobby Kostecka, Mike Kostecka, James Kostecka and Mark Kostecka; her niece, Lisa Neill; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Chad Drozd, Nathan Drozd, Bobby Kostecka, James Kostecka, Justin Neill, and Jeff Neu. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Bernard of Clairveaux Building Fund in Fairfield, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, or the charity of your choice.
