Allan Kubacak, age 66, of West, passed away early Tuesday afternoon, May 17, 2022 at the William Clements University Hospital in Dallas.
A rosary will be recited and Memorial Mass celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2022 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West.
Allan was born February 11, 1956 in Waco, the son of George and Mary (Straten) Kubacak. He attended schools in West and was a 1974 graduate of West High School. On November 26, 1976 he was united in marriage to Denice Haberl in West. Allan was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. He was also a member of the KJT Society #31, the Men's ACT's Core Group, Meals on Wheels, 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Father George Doskocil Assembly #2391, served on the Board of Directors of West Columbus Club, and was a past Grand Knight and Treasurer for the 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus Council #2305. Allan worked for M&M Mars Candy Company in Waco for 27 years before retiring in 2006. He also worked at James Connally Golf Course, Texas State Technical College and Home Depot. Allan enjoyed playing golf, shooting his guns, hunting, traveling, and making his Dad's peanut brittle and his Mom's dressing. He loved spending time with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren with whom he was affectionately known as "PeePaw".
Allan is preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Kennedy Shea; brothers-in-law, Malcolm, Frank and Timothy Haberl; and a sister-in-law, Deborah Vochoska.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 46 years, Denice Kubacak of West; his children, Katie and Kevin Shea of Mentor, OH and Christopher and Amber Kubacak of West; his grandchildren, Cadence, Audrey, Preston, and Parker; his siblings, Virgil and Mary Ann Kubacak, Beth and John Sulak, Anthony and Carolyn Kubacak, James and Sarah Kubacak, and Cindy and Dickie Smith; sisters-in-law, Doris Haberl, Renee Haberl, and Dolores and David Nemec; brother-in-law, Kenneth Vochoska; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Honorary pallbearers are Christopher Kubacak, Preston Shea, Gregg Vochoska, Ace Whitehead, Paul Haberl, Ryan Nemec, Tony Kubacak, and John Sulak.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Volunteer Ambulance Association or Knights of Columbus Council #2305.
