Alice Lula (Roth) Whitehead, age 86, of Austin, passed away Wednesday afternoon, October 19, 2005 at West Rest Haven in West. Memorial services will be held 4:30 p.m. Saturday, November 5, 2005 at the Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church in Austin, with Rev. Herb Tays and Rev. Douglas Fletcher officiating. Mrs. Whitehead was born on March 6, 1919 in Burleson County near the community of Deanville, the daughter of Henry G. and Lula (Wood) Roth. She graduated from Jefferson High School in San Antonio. She was united in marriage to Herman David Whitehead on May 31, 1938 in New Braunfels. He preceded her in death on July 14, 1997. Alice was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed sewing, working in her yard, rockwork, and just being outdoors. She was a member of Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church in Austin. Three brothers, Fred Roth, Nelson Roth and George Roth; and two sisters, Helen Johnson and Thelma O'Brien, all precede her in death. Survivors include three daughters, Linda Gay Bottoms and husband Charles of Aquilla, Dana Warrenburg and husband Wally of Austin and Evin Wehman of Ft. Worth; five grandchildren, Charles Bottoms, Vann Bottoms, Robert Warrenburg, Guy Wehman and Wesley Wehman; eleven great-grandchildren; her special friends, Georgia Livingston, Anita Glickert and Rev. Herb Tays; and many other relatives and friends. Memorials may be made to charity of your choice. A special note from the family, "We would like to extend a very special thank you to Georgia, Anita, and Herb for the loving support and Christian kindness shown to our Mother."
