Alice (Lander) Holzer, age 84, of Ross, passed away late Saturday, November 15, 2008 at West Rest Haven in West after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Isidore Rozycki officiating. Burial will follow at St. Martin's Cemetery in Tours. Mrs. Holzer was born October 20, 1924 near Elm Mott, the daughter of Daniel and Emilie (Papendorf) Lander, Sr. She attended schools in Gerald and West High School. In May, 1949 she was united in marriage to Raymond Holzer in Waco. He preceded her in death on June 20, 1989. Alice was a homemaker and worked for the Doskocil Industries in Tours for several years. She enjoyed tending her flower garden, crocheting, cooking, and spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours. Her parents; a brother, Walter Lander; two half sisters, Meta Schuetz and Ester Zost; and a nephew, Larry Blaschke; also preceded her in death. Survivors include a brother, Daniel Lander of Ross; a sister, Irma Blaschke and husband Alfred of Ross; a half brother, Bernard Lander of Cedar Hill; a sister-in-law, Willena Lander of Wichita, Kansas; several nieces and nephews including, Ronald Blaschke and wife Jackie, Linda Griffin and husband Lynn, and Karen Lander; and many great nieces, great nephews, other relatives, and friends. Pallbearers are Ronald Blaschke, Wilford Schuetz, Clarence Schuetz, Steve Courson, and Billy Courson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
