Alice Alexander

Alice (Clements) Alexander, age 84, of Aquilla, passed away early Wednesday morning, October 4, 2023 at Town Hall Estates in Whitney surrounded by her family.

A Celebration of Life will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Larry Harless officiating. Burial will follow at Bold Springs Cemetery near West. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Alice was born December 6, 1938 in Spunky Flats in Falls County, the daughter of William and Hettie (Alexander) Clements. She was a graduate of Cypress Fairbanks High School near Houston. On November 8, 1957 she was united in marriage to Johnny Alexander in Tokio. They were married for 55 wonderful, loving years, holding each others hearts and hands until Johnny's death on January 13, 2012. Alice was a former member of the First Baptist Church in West. She worked for Sears and Roebuck in Waco, serving many different roles, for many years and retired as Receiving Manager. Alice loved playing bingo and playing the lottery. Her car was trained to stop at every garage sale sighted. Her family truly appreciated her skill for making the best cream potatoes and Big Red floaties.

Alice is also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Billie Ethridge, Jane Marshall, and Marie Weatherly; and brothers, Daryl, Jack, Willie Jr., Garland, and Otis Clements.

Survivors include her daughters, Paula Alexander of Aquilla, and Teri Carter and husband Michael of The Colony; three grandchildren, Cooper Auerbach and husband Jose Barrera, Nolan Carter, and John Michael Carter; a great granddaughter, Emilia Marie Barrera; her sister-in-law, Betty Cox; Kate Holton; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Aquilla Volunteer Fire Department, Brazos River Rescue Ranch, The Kittery in Mexia, or the charity of your choice.
