Alfons Pustejovsky

Alfons "Bob" Pustejovsky, age 87, of West, formerly of Waco, passed away late Friday evening September 23, 2005 at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco. A rosary will be recited 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:15 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Military Graveside Rites will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, conducted by V.F.W. Post No. 4819 of West. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Pustejovsky was born on July 11, 1918 in West, the son of Julius W. and Bertha (Retchek) Pustejovsky. He attended Alligator Creek School and St. Mary's School in West. In serving his country he joined the United States Army and served during World War II. On September 25, 1944, he was united in marriage to Florence Mary Hajek in West. He worked as a foreman for twelve years with the Waco Parks and Recreation until his retirement in 1962. He also worked for Waco Chevrolet for twenty-one years. Bob loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting. His family and friends were a very special part of his life and enjoyed having fun with them. He was a member of American Legion and S.P.J.S.T. Lodge No. 66. He was a former member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Waco for forty-two years and St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. Survivors include his wife, Florence Pustejovsky of West; three sons, Robert Wayne Pustejovsky, David Julius Pustejovsky and Vicky, and Ralph Arnold Pustejovsky and wife Debby, all of West; eight grandchildren, Sheree Dominquez and husband Edwin, Trisha Sifers and husband James and Dustin Pustejovsky and wife Lacey, all of China Spring, Robert Pustejovsky Jr. of West, Amanda Adair, Whitney Pustejovsky, Taylor Pustejovsky, and J. D. Feltgen and wife Penny, all of West; nine great-grandchildren, Bailey and Tiffany Adair, Morgan, Marissa and Derek Jackson, Bradon and Bryson Sifers, Tessa Pustejovsky and Austin Feltgen; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Active pallbearers will be Robert Pustejovsky Jr., Dustin Pustejovsky, Joseph Holecek, E. J. Holecek, Richard Kaska, Andy Kaska, Rudy Hajek, Raymond Hajek and Anthony Hajek. Honorary pallbearers will be Dan Pokluda and Ernest Holecek. Memorials may be made to West Ambulance or St. Mary's Parish Center.
