Alfie Lee Brown

Alfie Lee "Teebo" Brown, age 84, of Leroy, passed away early Thursday morning, January 26, 2006 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, with Dr. John Crowder officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Brown was born on July 4, 1921 in McLennan County, the son of Samuel and Atha Mae (Culp) Brown. He was raised and attended schools in the China Spring and Valley Mills areas. On October 4, 1941 he was united in marriage to Jacquelyne Pearl "Jackie" Meyers in Waco. She preceded him in death on June 27, 1995. Mr. Brown worked as a plumber for Franklin Plumbing Company and later was co-owner of Dennis Brothers Plumbing Company both in Waco, before retiring in 1983. He enjoyed working as a painting contractor, farming, raising cattle and fishing. He was a member of the Leroy Baptist Church, where he served as deacon for many years. Mr. Brown was a member of the Woodmen of the World. His parents; a sister, Mathelda Brown; two brothers, Conroe Brown and Oliver Brown; and two great granddaughters, Stacy LeeAnn Sykora and Monica LeeAnn Grones; also preceded him in death. Survivors include three daughters, Jackie Lee Love and her husband Garland, Sharon Marie Murphy, and Paulette Keeton and her husband Ricky, all of Leroy; a brother Douglas Brown of Midolathian; two sisters, Shirley Boyd and Violet Raferty, both of Waco; eight grandchildren, Sharon Kutscherousky, Debbie Grones, Lee Love, Michael Ann Kocian, Meredith "Bubba" Murphy, Brandi Cher Williams, Kim Gold, and Katie Keeton; 12 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
