Albin J. Kallus, age 83 of Abbott, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro. Rosary will be recited 7 p.m. Friday at Kotch Funeral Home in West by Father B. George. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, December 1, 2007 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott; with Father B. George as celebrant. Burial will follow at Fatima Cemetery in Abbott. Mr. Kallus was born March 1, 1924 at Abbott and had lived in the Abbott area all of his life. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of VFW Post 4819 of West. He was also a member of the KJT Society #107 of Abbott and was a retired farmer. He married Josephine Marek, July 31, 1951 at Abbott. Survivors include his wife, Josephine; a son, David Kallus and a daughter Susan Kallus all of Abbott; a brother, Raymond Kallus and wife Lois of West; a sister, Tracie Smajstrla and husband Edward of Houston and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church Building Fund in Abbott.
