Albertine Peterson

June 26, 1937 — January 23, 2022

Albertine Peterson, age 84, of Mesquite, formerly of Penelope, was called to heaven early Sunday morning, January 23, 2022 at Highland Meadows in Rockwall. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Thursday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 28, 2022 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Msgr. Henry Petter as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Albertine was born June 26, 1937 in Penelope, the daughter of Englbert Joseph "E.J." and Marcella (Antoncik) Cernosek. It is there where she first met her beloved husband of 64 years, Anton Peterson. It was not until she left Penelope to work in Oak Cliff for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in which she reunited with Anton and they got married on August 10, 1957 in Penelope. Albertine worked several jobs over the years but her most treasured job was raising their four children, Anthony, Linda, Renee and Shawn in Mesquite. Albertine was a proud member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Dallas for over 62 years. She was also a member of the KJZT Society and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Dallas where she recently received her 30 year pin. At Penelope High School, she played for the 1954 state champion basketball team. Albertine and Anton enjoyed traveling the world together including special memories in Greece, Saipan, Nova Scotia and England. Although she loved her international travels, one of her favorite places to visit was the San Antonio River Walk. She also enjoyed dancing at the Czech Hall and spending time with her family and friends. Albertine is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Englbert and Wilfred Cernosek; and her sister, Marcella Cernosek. Survivors include her devoted husband, Anton Peterson of Mesquite; her children, Anthony Peterson and his wife Teresa of Forney, Linda Peterson of Lewisville, Renee Ramsey and her husband Michael of Allen, and Shawn Peterson and his wife Dawn of Fairview; grandchildren, Misti Wheat and her husband Wesley, Jeff Peterson and his girlfriend Gabrielle, Lisa Peterson, Donnie Darouse, Ethan Darouse, Chase Peterson, Allison Ramsey, and Dylan Scott; a great grandchild on the way; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Jeff Peterson, Donnie Darouse, Ethan Darouse, Chase Peterson, Dylan Scott, Wesley Wheat, and Donny Christian. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
