Albert P. Sulak, age 94, of Itasca, passed away early Wednesday morning, June 7, 2017 at his residence. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Thursday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West by Janice Kaluza, with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 9, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Paul Hudson as celebrant. Military Graveside Rites will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, conducted by the West Veterans Honor Guard. Albert was born October 9, 1922 in West, the son of Albert F. and Josephine (Rejcek) Sulak. He attended the old Sulak and Alligator Creek Schools. On February 4, 1946 he was united in marriage to Caroline Kaska in West. Caroline preceded him in death on October 12, 2012. Albert was a lifelong farmer and rancher. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. He was a former member of the Itasca Lions Club and the American Legion Post in Hillsboro. Albert enjoyed playing dominoes and poker. He especially loved driving his tractor, taking care of his cattle and going deer hunting. Albert is also preceded in death by his parents; a son, Ronnie Sulak; brothers, Abdon Sulak and Oldrich Sulak; and a sister, Dagmar Cepak. Survivors include; two sons, Albert J. Sulak and wife Dottie of Itasca, and Mark Sulak and wife Cathy of Malakoff; four daughters, Jo Ann Sulak of Midland, Patricia Sulak and husband Jeff Waxman of Temple, Judy Gonzales and husband Gilbert of Richardson and Andrea Sulak and husband Ron Abbott of Kingwood; a brother, Paul Sulak and wife Mary Frances; a sister, Nettie Jo Nors and husband Harry Gene; a brother-in-law, Marvin Cepak; grandchildren, Brian Sulak and wife Sara, Darrell Sulak and wife Michelle, Aaron Urbanovsky, Justin Sulak, Jarred Sulak, Kaleb Abbott and wife Megan, Kevin Abbott, Bart Waxman, Gabe Waxman, Becky Patton and husband Jimmy, Sarah Leopold and husband Tony, Stefanie Adams and husband Ricky, Carrie Kazda and husband Gary, Audra Smith and husband Michael, Tonya Sulak and husband Scott Schubert, and Wendy Osborne and husband David; great grandchildren, Dylan, Colton, Brandon, Julia, Brooke, Strone, Sylee, Tristan, Samuel, Elizabeth, Daniel, Jacob, James, Isabella, Blaise, Arwen, Islay, Benjamin, Sadie, Stihl, Grainger and Jaeger; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are his grandsons. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Marys Cemetery Association.
