Agnes Zatopek, age 94, of West, passed away Sunday evening, November 16, 2014 at St. Catherine's Center in Waco. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Thursday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Paul Hudson as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Agnes was born January 20, 1920 near West, the daughter of Joseph J. and Otillie (Macicek) Mynarcik. She attended St. Mary's and West schools. On September 15, 1956, she was united in marriage to Adolph J. Zatopek in Waco. Agnes was a homemaker and seamstress. She worked for Wood Manufacturing in Waco for over 20 years until her retirement in 1968. She was a very faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. She was a member of KJZT St. Ludmila Society #11, Catholic Daughters of America Court #829 and the Ladies Altar Society. Agnes enjoyed dancing and going to the coffee shop. She especially loved visiting family and friends. Agnes was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Bill Mynarcik and Daniel Mynarcik Sr.; and a sister, Victoria Cvikel. Survivors include her beloved husband of 58 years, Adolph J. Zatopek of West; brothers, Joseph J. "Joe" Mynarcik, Jr. and Louis Mynarcik; a sister, Lily Popp and husband Kenneth; a sister-in-law, Rosemary Mynarcik; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are her nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Rest Haven Disaster Relief Fund.
