Agnes Clara Veselka, age 88, of China Spring, passed away Thursday morning, July 19, 2007 at Westview Manor Nursing Home in McGregor. A rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m. Friday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West by George Christensen, followed by a visitation until 8:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with the Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Mrs. Veselka was born on November 11, 1918 in Leroy, the daughter of George Andrew and Clara (Wachsmann) Snider. She attended schools in Penelope. On December 26, 1940, she was united in marriage to Henry Emil Veselka Sr. in Waco. He preceded her in death on October 30, 1979. She was a homemaker and loved to cook and take care of her family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Agnes enjoyed getting together and playing dominoes. She was a member of St. Philip's Catholic Church in China Spring and a former member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Waco. She is also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Edmund Snider and Toney Snider; and five sisters, Flora Doskocil, Janie Lewis, Lena Bakluda, Rosa Kindred, and Ann Veselka. Survivors include fours sons, Henry Veselka Jr. and wife Dolores, Jerry Veselka, Steve Veselka and wife Pam and Vince Veselka and wife Michelle, all of China Spring; three daughters, Connie Caldwell and husband George, Clara Veselka, and Paula Corfield and husband Rodger, all of China Spring; one sister, Lillian Bayer of Waco; twelve grandchildren, Heather & Henry Mark, Steve Veselka Jr., Stephanie & Sara Veselka, Travis & Taylor Veselka, Shawn Bird and husband Jeff, Brandi Holub and husband Kris, Christie Harper and husband David, Justin and Amanda Radcliff; five great-grandchildren, Braylan, Sidney, Hunter, Haylee and Trinity; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Pallbearers are Steve Veselka Jr., Henry Mark Veselka, Justin Radcliff, Travis Veselka, Taylor Veselka and Jeff Bird. Memorials may be made to St. Philip's Catholic Church Building Fund in China Spring.
