Agnes Ann Kutach Webb, age 89, of West, passed away peacefully in her sleep early Monday morning, July 13, 2009 in Dallas at her daughter's residence. Agnes was born on April 16, 1920 in Avoca, Texas, to Frank and Annie Muehlstein Kutach, the eldest of three daughters. Agnes graduated from Avoca High School lettering in volleyball and basketball. She later attended Draughon's Business College in Abilene. It was at a school dance at Draughon's that she met Malcolm (Mack) Odell Webb. They danced a few dances at this and a subsequent dance, and on February 14, Valentine's Day, Mack bought a box of chocolates and had it sent to her apartment. He called her that night to ask her for a date and she accepted and every year thereafter, Mack sent a box of chocolates to Agnes on Valentine's Day marking their first official date. Mack and Agnes were married on May 14, 1940 in Stamford. Their only daughter, Rebecca (Becky) Jane Webb was born on December 7, 1942. They lived the early part of their married life in Odessa. Agnes retired from Jones Pontiac Car Dealership where she was office manager until 1983. Upon retirement, Mack and Agnes moved to West, where they built a home on land they had purchased in 1956. They enjoyed their semi-retirement years raising cattle. After 63 years of marriage, Mack passed away on December 12, 2003. Agnes devoted much of her free time to volunteering at the West Rest Haven Nursing Home. In fact, she spent 15 years volunteering there. Agnes was also devoted to St. Mary's Catholic Church and was a member of the Catholic Daughters. She also enjoyed watching the Texas Rangers, Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Cowboys. She had an exceptional talent for china oil painting. She loved to play bridge, poker, and gin rummy. Agnes was proudly devoted to her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. Agnes leaves as her survivors her only daughter, Rebecca "Becky" Webb Meinzer and her husband, Alfred C. Meinzer, Jr. of Dallas; her oldest granddaughter, Lisa Meinzer Tafoya and her only child, Alexandra Raye Tafoya, both of Sunnyvale, as well as her youngest granddaughter, Tracey Meinzer Filbeck and her husband, Jared Webb Filbeck of Dallas, and their two sons Justin Webb Filbeck and Jakob William Filbeck; her twin sisters, Martha Sulak Gerik of Aquilla and Marie Kolar of Electra; and several nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
