Adolph Leo Charanza

Adolph L. Charanza, age 84, of Ross, passed away early Sunday morning, December 3, 2017 at West Rest Haven in West. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 7, 2017 at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Rev. Paul Hudson officiating. Burial will follow at White Rock Cemetery near Ross. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Adolph was born January 28, 1933 in West, the son of Emil and Julie (Grones) Charanza. He attended school at Alligator Creek, Lacy Lakeview and Tokio. On March 24, 1952 he was united in marriage to Evelyn Lichnovsky in Marlin. Evelyn preceded him in death on December 21, 2016. Adolph worked for General Tire and Rubber Company in Waco for 41 years, before retiring in 1994. He was also a rancher and previously work at the West Textile Mill. Adolph was a member of the Elm Mott Riding Club and the Ross Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed helping with fire department fundraisers, going to garage sales with his wife, attending horse sales and trail rides with his wagon. Adolph liked hunting, fishing, cookoffs and his special Friday night get-togethers. He especially loved ranching and tending to his cattle on his ranger. Adolph is also preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Victor Charanza; and a sister, Lillian Ramsey. Survivors include his sons, Johnny Charanza and wife Cindy of Ross and Jerry Charanza and wife Donna of Leroy; sisters, Willie Mae Sudberry and Marcella Charanza; grandchildren, Joey Charanza and wife Jaimie, Lisa Ray and husband Michael, Eric Charanza and wife Jenny and Kristi Sprayberry and husband Jeremy; great grandchildren, Carter, Cooper, Gage, Tyler, Kingsley, Primley, Laniston and Kyzer; and many nieces, nephews, other realtives and friends. Active pallbearers are Joey Charanza, Eric Charanza, Michael Ray, Jeremy Sprayberry, Bill Foitek, Larry Pilgrim and Rocky Charanza. Honorary pallbearers are Carter Charanza, Tyler Ray, Gage Gordon and Kyzer Charanza. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ross Volunteer Fire Department or to the charity of your choice.
