Adolf J. Polansky, age 107, of West, passed away Friday afternoon, August 25, 2023 at West Rest Haven in West.
A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Thursday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 1, 2023 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Ed Karasek and Rev. Timothy Vaverek as celebrants. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
Adolf was born June 13, 1916 in West, the son of John and Mary (Ruzicka) Polansky. He attended St. Mary's School. On November 7, 1939 he was united in marriage to Frances Nors in West. Frances preceded him in death on February 14, 2011. Adolf was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption and was also a member of the KJT Society #31. He was a farmer all his life and continued to mow his own yard (3+ acres) until age 100. Adolf enjoyed watching wrestling, watching polka videos, and listening to Polka music, his favorite was Molly B. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren and celebrating all holidays together.
Adolf is also preceded in death by his parents; a son, Leo Polansky; a daughter, Lucille Polansky; brothers, Frank and John Polansky; a son-in-law, Rudolph Matus Jr.; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Polansky; a grandson, Brian Polansky; and two great grandchildren, Sarah Suttle and Matthew Colbert.
Survivors include his children, Helen Matus, Jerome Polansky and wife Emily, Anton Polansky and wife Beverly, Henry Polansky, Charles Polansky and wife Theresa, Freddie Polansky and wife Debbie, and Cathy Horton and husband Garry, all of West; his grandchildren, Patrick Matus and wife Vickie, Theresa Suttle and husband Jerry, Cecilia Colbert and husband Calvin, Paul Polansky, Luke Polansky, Michelle Sing, Sherry Janner and husband Matt, Mark Polansky and wife Landrah, Shelly Gillaspie and husband C.J., Eric Polansky and wife Kelli, Brandon Polansky, Brooke Salinas and husband Saul, Jacob Polansky and wife Allie, Colton Polansky, Zachary Horton and wife Laken, Ethan Horton and wife Randi, and Maci Horton and boyfriend Chance Chaney; great grandchildren, David, Kyle, Madeleine, Sophia, Lexie and husband Jake, Haley, Troy, Braden, Avery, Alexis, Jake, Skyler, Jadyn, McKinlee, Caisen, Braxton, Meghan, Arden, Harper, Ethan, Anslee, Douglas, Lola, and one on the way; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers are Patrick Matus, Mark Polansky, Eric Polansky, Zachary Horton, Ethan Horton, Colton Polansky, Brandon Polansky, and Jacob Polansky.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's School Endowment Fund or St. Mary's Cemetery Association.
