Adelle Janek, age 88, of West, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at Jeffrey Place in Waco. Graveside services will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday at West Brethren Cemetery, with the Rev. Curtis Holland officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Janek was born on January 21, 1918 in Mt. Calm, the daughter of Emil and Emilie (Kudelka) Rydel. She attended Abbott School and on October 6, 1940, she was united in marriage to Adolf Benjamin Janek in West. He preceded her in death on April 17, 1997. She was a housekeeper at West Community Hospital for over seventeen years until her retirement in 1995. Adelle loved to sew and embroider. She was a member of Christian Sisters of the Brethren Church and was also a member of the West Brethren Church. Three brothers, Rudolph Rydel, Adolf Rydel, and Emil Rydel; and four sisters, Lydia Rydel, Sidonia Popp, Elsie Skarpa, and Wilma Hegar all precede her in death. Survivors include her daughter, Elaine Barron and her husband Ed of Hearne; four grandchildren, Kelli Timmerman of Rockdale, Keith Bastow and wife Shannon of Milano, Marc Barron of Hearne, and Mallori McLain and husband Anthony of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; four great-grandchildren, Garrett Timmerman, Sharee Bundrick, Kiersten Bastow, and Laynie Bastow; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Memorials may be made to West Brethren Church or to the charity of your choice.
