Adeline (Podsednik) Davis, age 81, of Tours, passed away Saturday morning in Waco. A rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:15 a.m. Tuesday at St. Martin's Catholic Church with Msgr. Isidore Rozycki as celebrant. Burial will be in Winterset, Iowa. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. Davis was born November 2, 1923 in Tours, the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Snider) Podsednik. She attended school in Tours. Adeline married Wesley M. Davis in Dallas. He preceded her in death on May 31, 2000. She was a homemaker and co-owner of Brooks Grocery in Oak Cliff for over 30 years before retiring in 1975 and moving to Lorimor, Iowa. She returned to the West area in 2000. She was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours. Adeline enjoyed gardening, traveling, playing golf, sewing, hunting, and team bowling. Her parents; an infant son and daughter; and five sisters, Josephine Matus, Louise Popp, Antonia Brooks, Ernestine Janek and Wanda Bridges; and two brothers, Jodie Podsednik and Ed Podsednik; also preceded her in death. Survivors include a son, Shelly Brooks of Houston; a brother, Robert Podsednik and his wife Louise of Leroy; a sister, Rebecca Bray of West; three grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Memorials may be made to St. Martin's Church Renovation Project.
