Adel (Mynar) Sembera, age 94 of West, passed away late Saturday afternoon, February 20, 2010 at West Rest Haven. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Monday at Aderhold Funeral Home by Janice Kaluza, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with the Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Mrs. Sembera was born on May 9, 1915 in Hill County, the daughter of John and Rosie (Neckar) Mynar. She attended Brooken School in Hill County. On May 14, 1935, she was united in marriage to Emil E. Sembera in West. He preceded her in death on April 19, 1996. Adel was a homemaker and farmed with her husband until they retired. She enjoyed working puzzles, gardening, quilting, playing solitaire and watching The Young and the Restless. She especially loved spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West and RVOS Lodge #46 in Cottonwood. She is also preceded in death by two sons, Emil Sembera Jr. and Lawrence Sembera; a daughter, Irene Sembera; two daughters-in-law, Doris Sembera and Florence Sembera; two sons-in-law Rudolph Kolar and Harold Sexton; four brothers, John Mynar, Felix Mynar, Joe Mynar and Ben Mynar; and five sisters, Rosie Bartosh, Annie Ondrej, Lillie DeJong, Martha Hutyra, Hattie Kramer, and Mary Mikuda. Survivors include a son, Alvin Sembera and wife Dorothy of West; two daughters, Jaroline Kolar of West and Mary Ann Sexton of Abbott; a sister-in-law, Helen Mynar; 18 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are her grandsons, Rudy Kolar, Ricky Kolar, Randy Kolar, David Kolar, Kyle Sembera, Jason Sembera, Brian Sembera, Dale Sembera, and Emil Sembera III. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Clerical Endowment Fund.
