Bill was born October 12, 1944 in Houston the son of William Nathan and Betty (Bartlett) Tackitt. He was united in marriage to Bonnie Lorraine Wing on February 26, 1966. Bill was raised in a military family and lived in various parts of the United States. He graduated from Buckeye High School in Buckeye, Arizona in 1962. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1962 and was stationed at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana. Bill and his family left in 1967 to live in Texas and were longtime residents of the Waco area. All who knew Bill will remember his humor, his common sense approach to life and his ability to tell a good story. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing, and could tell a good fish story with the best of them. Bill enjoyed watching Dallas Cowboy games with his children, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his immediate and extended family. He was very proud of how close his family has always been and treasured time spent with all of them. Bill was preceded in death by his parents.
