Thomas Mart Crum, age 63, of Elm Mott, passed away Wednesday morning, March 4, 2015 after his ongoing battle with cancer at Providence Healthcare Center in Waco. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 7,2015 at Bold Springs Cemetery near West, with Rev. Jack Bodenhamer officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West. Thomas was born December 13, 1951 in Waco, the son of the late Mart Crum and Helen Josephine (Black) Howell. He attended school in Waco and University High School. On November 16, 1973, he was united in marriage to Alice Faye Monthey in Hubbard, Texas. Alice preceded him in death after 39 years of marriage on December 13, 2012. Thomas had a passion for construction work where he spent time working for Brown & Root near Port Lavaca and Gifford & Hill in Waco. In the local area, he assisted in the construction of Lake Aquilla and several other reservoirs. Thomas enjoyed being outdoors, watching birds and tending to his rose bushes. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include two sons, Tommy D. Crum and wife Belinda of Elm Mott, and Terry M. Crum of Ft. Worth; a daughter, Tammy Louise Comstock and husband Casey of Houston; grandsons, Colton, Corey and Connor Crum, Gavin Crum and Freddie Comstock; brothers, Chester Crum and Don Crum and wife Cindy; sisters, Cindy McClain and husband Mike, Catherine Hart and husband Bobby and Debra Crum; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Casey Comstock, David Monthey, Westley Sliva, Theodore Monthey, Tommy Couch and Jason Forsythe. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
