Mildred (Geltmeier) Young, age 78, of Tokio, passed away early Sunday morning, September 20, 2015 at Town Hall Estates in Hillsboro. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 24, 2015 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Malone with Pastor Mandy Brobst-Renaud officiating. Burial will follow at Walling Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Aderhold Funeral Home. Mildred was born August 11, 1937 in Malone, the daughter of Reinhard "Pete" and Ella Mae (Piel) Geltmeier. She attended Bynum High School. On October 23, 1952 she was united in marriage to Marvin Joe Young in Malone. Marvin preceded her in death on April 20, 1999. Mildred worked for Sears and Roebuck for 30 years before retiring in 1999. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Malone, where she played the piano for worship services. Mildred was also a member of the West Fair and Rodeo Association and West Longhorn Club, where she served as secretary. She was instrumental in starting the West Softball League and coached Kozelski Motors in the inaugural season. Mildred enjoyed traveling with her family, dancing and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Mildred is also preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Quinton and Robert Dee Geltmeier. Survivors include her children, Pam Young and Paula Young, both of Tokio, and Rodney Joe Young of Gatesville; grandchildren, Savannah and Colton Young, and their mother, Katherine Milner; several special sisters and brothers-in-law; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Randy Geltmeier, Keith Geltmeier, Greg Geltmeier, Michele (Geltmeier) Peirson, Deena (Geltmeier) Zimmerhanzel and Steve Clinkscales. Honorary pallbearers are Linda (Young) Galle and Roger Galle, Shirley (Young) Clinkscales and Douglas Clinkscales, Norma Lee (Young) Bearden and Barney Bearden. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the charity of your choice. The family wishes to thank all the caregivers that provided such wonderful care in her time of need.
