Marie Alexander, age 99, of Hillsboro, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2007 at Town Hall Estates in Hillsboro. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Brother Gary Kreder officiating. Burial will follow at Bold Springs Cemetery near West. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. Alexander was born on July 18, 1907 in Tokio, the daughter of John and Mary (Slovak) Urban. She attended school near Tokio. On April 8, 1929, she was united in marriage to Tol Barger Alexander in Waco. He preceded her in death on April 7, 1984. Marie was a homemaker and loved making homemade soap, sewing, cooking and quilting. She was a member of Vaughan Baptist Church. She is also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Delton Cox; five brothers, John Urban, Bob Urban, Frank Urban, Tony Urban and Pete Urban, and five sisters, Josephine Urban, Frances Urban, Philomenia Urban, Victoria Soukup and Clara Urban. Survivors include one son, Johnny Alexander and wife Alice of Abbott; one daughter, Betty Ann Cox of Abbott; nine grandchildren, Teri and Michael Carter, Paula Auerbach-Stein, Mikel and Maria Craig, Stephen and Rebecca Cox, Mark and Patricia Cox, Michael and Leigh Ann Aguirre, William and Tracey Cox, Michael and Sandy Cox, Tim and Sarah King; fifteen great-grandchildren, Nolan and John Michael Carter, Cooper Auerbach, Elizabeth and Ethan Craig, Prescilla and Stephen Cox, Nathan and Tyler Cox, Lauren, Haley and Alexis Aguirre, Sadey Cox, Ashley Cox and Hayden King; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
