Louise Ondrej, age 95, of West, passed away early Wednesday morning, August 4, 2021 at Providence Hospice Place in Waco. The family will receive visitors from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West A rosary will be recited and Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott, with Rev. Brijil Lawrence as celebrant. Burial will follow at Fatima Cemetery. Louise was born November 3, 1925 in Lorena, the daughter of Otto and Matilda (Wedeking) Brinkmann. She attended school in Ross. On April 1, 1944 she was united in marriage to Jerry Hutyra. Jerry preceded her in death on October 1949. Then on July 9, 1950 she was united in marriage to Daniel Ondrej in West. Daniel also preceded her in death on November 26, 1997. Louise was a faithful member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Altar Society in Abbott and an honorary member of the KJZT Society #104 in Abbott. She and her husband owned The Jerry Hutyra Grocery Store near four corners in West. She also worked at Wolf Manufacturing in West and as a cook for Aquilla Independent School District. She was a wonderful Mother and homemaker and also farmed with her husband and cooked for many weddings and funerals. Louise enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking, gardening, canning, making homemade noodles, baking, and was known for her delicious homemade kolaches. She loved spending time with her family and getting together for all the holidays with a big meal. Louise is also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Geraldine Barton; a grandson, Bobby Lynn Shelton; and sisters, Helen Wilhite and Esther Alsup. Survivors include her children, Doris Hutyra Rauch and husband Ronald of Waupaca, WI, Martha Hutyra Kreid and husband Bob of West, John Ondrej and wife Cathy of Aquilla, Elizabeth Ondrej Hartnett and husband Jackie of Cleburne, and Barbara Ondrej of Spicewood; a sister, Lenora Kluck Lynch; 17 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are the grandsons, Michael Rauch, Daniel Rauch, Tim Trolinger, Chris Trolinger, Ray Barton, Darrell Sulak, and Jason Shelton. Honorary pallbearers will be the granddaughters, Patricia Rauch, Amy Green, Karen Hoeller, Melissa Garner, Erin Starling, Audra Smith, Tina Urbanovsky, Anna Dotson, Stephanie Shelton and Jennifer Vergara. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Providence Hospice.
