Gil Suter

Gil Suter, age 63, of West, passed away Wednesday afternoon, August 22, at his residence. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday August 28, 2018 at Aderhold Funeral Home in West. Gil was born February 12, 1955 in Muskogee, Oklahoma, the son of John Henry and Virginia (Sullivan) Suter. He attended LaVega High School near Waco. Gil was a cabinet maker and owned "The Cupboard" in West for over 15 years. He loved working with wood, listening to music and visiting with friends. Gil is preceded in death by his mother and step father, Virginia and Teddy Earles; his father, John Henry Suter; and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Baker. Survivors include his children, Chad Suter and wife Jennifer and their children, Jacob, Kylee and Ashley of Houston and Christi Matus and husband Matthew and their children, Gigi, Eli and Clementine of West; brothers, Mike Suter and John Suter and wife Tracy; sisters, Jean Baker and Ginger Deckard; the mother of his children, Alice Patton Thomas and husband Brett; his girlfriend, Shelly Hurtt; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
