George Gajdica

April 5, 1927 — February 11, 2019

George Gajdica, age 91, of Kemp, passed away Monday morning, February 11, 2019 at Cedar Lake Nursing Home in Malakoff. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 14, 2019 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Timothy Vaverek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in West. George was born April 5, 1927 in Elk, the son of Charlie and Anna (Vicha) Gajdica. He attended schools in Mt. Calm. On July 17, 1946 he was united in marriage to Magdalene Hykel in Dallas. George was a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church in Gun Barrel City. He was a Farmer all his life and a Master Plumber for over 50 years before retiring in 2000. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and farming. George is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Andrew Gajdica and Charlie Gajdica; and sisters, Elizabeth Urbanovsky and Lydia Prachyl. Survivors include his beloved wife of 73 years, Magdalene Gajdica of Kemp; his children, Sandra Dotson of Malakoff, George Gajdica and wife Diana of Red Oak, Susan Embrey and husband Estel of Oak Leaf, Darlene Bolton and husband Kevin Brim of Euestace, Gary Gajdica and wife Deborah of Red Oak, Victor Gajdica and wife Debby of Red Oak, Teresa Hearron and husband Ronny of Ferris, Denise Smith and husband Michael of Malakoff, and Pamela Toumbs and husband Frank of Palmer; a brother, Laddie Gajdica; sisters, Christine Sefcik and Martha Saunders; 25 grandchildren; 54 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Mack Dickey, Michael Norris, Brian Gajdica, Kyle Toumbs, Frankie Toumbs, Jimmy Gajdica, Cody Embrey, and Beau Gajdica.
