Frances E. Stephens

Frances Earlene (Carpenter) Stephens, age 65, of Gholson, passed away early Friday morning, January 6, 2016 at her residence. Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 9, 2017 at Gholson Cemetery, with Dr. John Crowder officiating. Earlene was born April 11, 1951 in Corsicana, the daughter of Elvin and Katherine (Anderson) Carpenter. She was a 1969 graduate of West High School. Earlene was a manager for Plantation Food Turkey Farm in Gholson. She then worked for VanTran in Waco for several years before retiring in 2009. She enjoyed horseback riding, crocheting, being outdoors and homemade wine. Earlene is preceded in death by her mother; a son, Michael Rakes; and a brother, Jesse Lee Carpenter. Survivors include her father, Elvin "Earl" Carpenter; her children, Heath Mynar of Hewitt, and Tracie of Waco; a brother, Earl Carpenter and wife Sue; a sister, Evelyn Womack and husband Kenneth; 8 grandchildren; 2 great granddaughters; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
