Elenora Agnes Svacina, age 91, of Penelope, passed away late Monday night, August 13, 2012 at West Rest Haven in West. A rosary will be recited 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel by Janice Kaluza, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday at Church of the Nativity, B.V.M. in Penelope, with Rev. Walter Matus and Rev. Ouseph Thekkumthala as celebrants. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery near Penelope. Mrs. Svacina was born September 25, 1920 in Penelope, the daughter of Charles and Sophie (Matus) Kallus. She attended Griffin Country School and Brigham School near Penelope and Cottonwood. On June 25, 1945, she was united in marriage to Albin Svacina in Penelope. He preceded her in death on June 6, 1990. Elenora was a housewife and homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, especially chopping weeds, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Church of the Nativity, B.V.M. in Penelope, K.J.Z.T. Society, Veteran Of Foreign Wars Post No. 4819 Ladies Auxiliary, and Catholic Daughters of America Court #829. Elenora is also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Harry Kallus; and a granddaughter, Brandie Svacina. Survivors include four sons, Patrick Svacina and wife Susan of Arlington, James Svacina and wife Penny of Elm Mott, Malcolm Svacina and wife Paula of Penelope, and Bernie Svacina of Birome; a daughter, Rita Wright and husband Steve of Penelope; two brothers, Gilbert Kallus and wife Lena and Pat Kallus and wife Wilma all of Waco; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Tanner Svacina, Stephen Svacina, Jeremy Lange, Stephen Kallus, Dennis Kallus, Tommy Petter, Joe Albin Karlik, and Zacharee Svacina. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Church of the Nativity, B.V.M. or the Penelope Volunteer Fire Dept.
