Colleen Pratka

Colleen Lynette Pratka, age 56, of Waco, passed away early Monday morning, November 11, 2013 at Providence Hospice in Waco. A rosary will be recited 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours, with Rev. Ed Karasek and Rev. Michael Ajewole as celebrants. Burial will follow at St. Martin's Cemetery. Colleen was born May 20, 1957 in Waco the daughter of James H. and Angeline (Straten) Debbendener. She attended schools in Tours and West, before graduating West High School in 1975. On July 28, 1979 she was united in marriage to Ike B. Pratka in Tours. Colleen was a Senior Collection Manager for Educators Credit Union in Waco. Prior to that, she worked with Beneficial Household Credit Union for over 30 years and United Church Directories. Colleen was a longtime member of St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughter of America Court in Bellmead. Colleen enjoyed fishing, cooking, going to horse races and casino's, collecting Angels and butterflies, and playing dominoes. She especially loved spending time with her family. Colleen is preceded in death by her father, James Debbendener. Survivors include her beloved husband of 34 years, Ike B. Pratka of Waco, two sons, Clint Pratka and wife Kacie of Glen Rose and Kyle Pratka of Waco; her mother, Angeline Debbendener of Waco; brothers, Dennis Debbendener and wife Debbie and Calvin Debbendener and wife Terry; sister, Dolores Larson and husband Eric; twin grandsons, Weston Lane and Tyson Jack Pratka; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are J.T. Pratka, Doug Hand, Raymond Lucien Jr., Jeffery Debbendener, Gary Straten and Gregg Larson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Martin's Cemetery or to St. Martin's C.C.E.
