Carolyn Young

Carolyn Young, age 77, of Waco, passed away early Tuesday morning, July 26, 2022 at Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Hospital in Waco.

Graveside Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 1, 2022 at Billington Cemetery near Axtell, with Pastor Ronnie Holmes officiating.

Carolyn was born June 3, 1945 in Waco, the daughter of John and Geneva (Bramble) Landrum.  She was a 1963 graduate of Waco High School.  On June 22, 1963 she was united in marriage to Walker "Buddy" Young Jr. in Waco. Buddy preceded her in death on June 9, 2020. Carolyn grew up as a member of the Bible Way Church in Waco. She was a hair dresser for Hair Affiar in Waco for over 10 years, before retiring in 1992. Carolyn enjoyed listening to music, singing in church, and watching The Food Network.

Carolyn is also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Charles E. Landrum; and a nephew, Brent Ochoa.

Survivors include her son, Kenneth Young of Waco; a sister, Shirley Powell of McGregor; nieces, Cheryl Ochoa and Dianna Mosley and her husband Butch; great nephews, Christopher Ochoa and wife Terra, Cecil Mosley and wife Kortni, and Stanton Mosley and wife Sky; a great niece, Lauren Owen and husband Trevor; and many other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the West Volunteer Ambulance Association.
