August Grellhesl, age 95, of West passed away late Friday night, June 13, 2008 at Lake Shore Village in Waco. A rosary will be recited and Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Grellhesl was born May 9, 1913 near Leroy, the son of Conrad and Mary (Seith) Grellhesl. He was raised in the Tours area. On July 27, 1933 he was united in marriage to Albina Jean Sulak in Hillsboro. She preceded him in death on October 8, 1992. August was a farmer in the West area for most of his life. He was also a truck driver for the West Flour Mill and McLennan County. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. August enjoyed taking care of his cattle. His parents; two brothers, Conrad Grellhesl Jr. and Alfonse Grellhesl; and three sisters, Hattie Stone, Agnes Neighbors, and Annie Hubik; also preceded him in death. Survivors include a son, James Grellhesl of San Angelo; a daughter, Barbara Larkin and husband Edward of Chalk Bluff; two brothers, Fred Grellhesl of Houston and William "Bill" Grellhesl of West; one sister, Rosalie Hutyra of West; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
